For fifteen years, I dreamed of becoming a writer. Putting my thoughts and prose onto paper. Infusing life into fictional characters. Sharing my stories with others. Thanks to my real-life hero and husband, that dream became a reality three years ago. With his support and my determination, I embarked on the most rewarding journey of my life. As my beloved mother once said, “Don’t give up. You’ll never achieve your goals if you stop reaching for them.” She, an avid reader of romance fiction, was my greatest influence and inspiration. Though she is no longer physically present to discuss my dreams and goals, her spirit remains strong and bolsters me daily.

The first day I sat down in my home office and turned on the computer, I didn’t quite know what to expect. Surely, writing a book wasn’t easy, but it couldn’t be that difficult. Could it? Suffice it to say, authoring romance fiction is far more challenging than composing college papers and business correspondence. But I’m a persistent person at the very least. Wouldn’t surrender, despite rejections from several publishers. Held on to my dream much as a precious piece of porcelain. Guarded my creative muse. Girded my loins for future failures. Nurtured my story ideas from conception to birth. But, most of all, I continue to hone my craft and learn everything possible about the making and marketing of romance fiction.
